Translation Portfolio

This is a selection of recent projects, ranging from tech and e-commerce to brand campaigns and retail. Each one had a different tone, audience, and challenge. I’ve added a few notes to give you a sense of how I think and work.

Shotgun King: The Final Checkmate
Shotgun King is a French indie game by independent studio Punkcake Délicieux that reimagines chess, if the king had a shotgun and a vendetta.
I translated the full game into Dutch, striking a balance between deadpan absurdity and tight gameplay instructions. The tone is weird, dramatic, and self-aware: every line needed to land, or the game risked falling flat.
From the menu to codex explanations, the goal was to make it feel like the original wanted to be Dutch all along.
(Plus, I have it on good authority that the Dutch version led to a significant uptake of sales.)

OKX

OKX is one of the largest crypto trading platforms in the world.

I’ve worked on a wide range of Dutch translations for them, including product pages, onboarding flows, help documents, and legal disclaimers. Their tone is clean, confident, and exact: no jargon padding, no missed nuance.

I made sure every sentence was sharp, accurate, and trustworthy, which is key in a field with complicated regulatory compliance.

Abercrombie & Fitch

Abercrombie & Fitch is a global fashion brand with a strong, distinctive voice: laid-back but polished, and always on-message to drive sales.

I’ve translated high volumes of Dutch content for them, primarily key flows like the checkout, and major portions of their seasonal catalogues.

The challenge was maintaining a consistent tone across formats: relaxed but not sloppy, confident yet not over the top. Every word needed to feel like it belonged: American in spirit and natural in Dutch.

Not bad, right?

Gibson, Inc

Gibson is one of the most iconic guitar brands in the world: bold, as American as can be, and full of swagger.
Bringing that voice to the Dutch market isn’t just a matter of translation. Go too literal and it falls flat. Push too hard and it turns into parody.

My job was to hit the sweet spot: language that feels natural to Dutch readers but still carries the weight and attitude of the original. No cheesy slang, no lost edge; just the right kind of Gibson cool.

Readly

Readly is a Swedish app that gives users unlimited access to hundreds of digital magazines and newspapers.
I’ve worked with them for several years on Dutch translations across their platform, from app store blurbs to landing page copy. Their tone is authoritive and sales-driven while being friendly. What I bring is consistency and instinct: making sure every piece fits the brand voice, even when the formats vary.
