Recent work
I’ve translated for fintech giants like OKX, where every sentence has to be precise. Not just technically correct, but clear and confident, with no room for ambiguity.
For brands like Abercrombie & Fitch and Readly, the challenge is different: staying on-brand across a huge variety of content, while making sure it still reads like it was written for Dutch audiences in the first place, not translated as an afterthought.
The world of guitars with Gibson, Inc. was a real delight. How do you bring one of the coolest American names to life in Dutch without falling into clichés or cringey slang? It’s a fine line, and exactly the kind of puzzle I enjoy.

I’m just as at home in stranger, more fantastical places. I’ve localized a game by Punkcake Délicieux, a small French studio known for its chaotic, tongue-in-cheek arcade titles. These kinds of projects demand a different muscle: rhythm, voice, and a willingness to break the rules when that’s what the moment calls for.
And then there’s the work that lives closer to the heart: children’s books. There’s a special kind of joy in getting a rhyme just right, or finding the one Dutch word that makes a five-year-old laugh out loud. These translations have their own kind of precision: playful, but carefully balanced.
One recent highlight: translating a title for Collins Big Cat, an imprint of HarperCollins focused on early readers.
